We do a lot of curbside pickup and delivery for our groceries, but there are a few things we prefer to pick out ourselves. The feature of Giant Eagle that I like the most is their Scan Pay Go self scan and checkout system. It is so easy. You scan your card to get a scanner, you scan your items as you shop, put them into your bag, and at the end you go to the dedicated checkout kiosk and scan the barcode. You then pay for your groceries, get your receipt, and walk out to your car. I'm surprised so many people prefer to stand in line at the traditional cashier lines. It saves so much time! Having a dedicated scanner instead of using an app on your phone is easier to handle and you don't need to worry about dropping it. I'm definitely a fan.
I had a gift card so I decided I would stop in and check the beverage selection. On front entry to the left your greeted right away with the beer and wine area. They have a large selection of beers domestic and micros as well as some imports. The wine section seemed very small but still had a lot of popular choices that most people seem to drink. The prices don't seem bad being your buying a 6 pack from a grocery store so it's around what you would expect. Service was fast and friendly I'll definitely be returning.
